Time Strategies
My favorite time management strategy that students struggle with the most is... do the work before the day it’s due if possible! And especially don’t do it hours before it’s due. I don’t know how people can wait until 10 PM the night it’s due at 11:59 PM, because that’s really stress inducing! Getting done early means you get to chill out. Especially if you do it all weekdays in your “gap hours,” or the time in between classes. You do want that weekend free after all.
Another management strategy I have is always look ahead. Making sure you know what’s coming up ahead means you can prepare for exams, essays, and more without giving unnecessary stress to yourself. Knowing what’s going on in all your classes is extremely important, because you might end up with 4 tests or essays due the same week or even the same day, and you need to prepare for them all! Knowing that’s coming means you can stratify how you want to get ready for all of those so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
The final one I have that’s online class specific is to treat it like a regular class. Set aside a certain amount of time each day to the class, and it will make it a lot more manageable. If you have more time on certain days, then set aside more time then so you can work ahead for those days that you have less time. It’s still a class, you just get to choose the time every week that is the best to sit down for it.
